The Ruins of Abundance are the location of Tapu Bulu, the guardian deity of Ula'ula Isle. Tapu Bulu can be battled after becoming the Champion.

The Ruins of Affluence debuted in Some Kind of Laziness!, where Ash and Acerola traveled in that location in social club to see Tapu Bulu and get it to help Ash in his training for his rematch with Nanu. The ii found Tapu Bulu loafing around at the top of the ruins, initially too lazy to even help Ash. Later on being surprised by Poipole, notwithstanding, the Country Spirit Pokémon finally got upwardly and demonstrated its powers past planting several seeds and growing them into big trees in a matter of seconds. As Ash'due south Rowlet rested on one of the copse for a moment, it was struck by a sudden flare-up of power, causing information technology to larn Razor Leaf on the spot.
Soon after, it started to pelting, and Ash and his Pokémon started playing in the rain. Unfortunately, Ash's Lycanroc got dirty when the other Pokémon splashed mud on it, causing it to go berserk once more. However, Ash reminded Lycanroc of its time as a Rockruff, when it hadn't minded getting muddy at all. This trip down the memory lane was enough to snap Lycanroc out of its rage. The rain and then passed, and Tapu Bulu surprised Ash past challenging him and Lycanroc to a battle. During the battle, Lycanroc was tossed into a pool of h2o, just emerged from information technology without going berserk, and eventually learned Rock Border, much to Ash'due south pleasure. Tapu Bulu and so stopped the battle and offered Ash and his Pokémon Oran Berries from the trees, before going back to lazing off.
In Guiding an Enkindling!, the ruins served as the site of Ash's thousand trial boxing with Nanu. To Ash'southward surprise, Nanu informed him that he was merely immune to utilize one Pokémon against his three. Afterward recovering from the initial shock, Ash accustomed this status and chose to apply his Lycanroc for the boxing. After Lycanroc had beaten 2 of Nanu's Pokémon, Tapu Bulu appeared to a higher place the battlefield and dropped down a Sitrus Drupe for Lycanroc to recover its wellness. During the match against Nanu's last Pokémon, Western farsi, Lycanroc seemed to go berserk again, and Ash kept yelling at it to calm down, until Lycanroc unexpectedly tackled Ash, revealing that it was in perfect control of itself and was actually using its red-eyed land as a ability boost. After countering Western farsi'south Blackness Hole Eclipse with Lycanroc'due south Continental Crush, Ash had Lycanroc use Accelerock, defeating Persian and winning the grand trial for him. Nanu then considered giving Ash a Darkinium Z equally a reward, but rapidly changed his mind, stating that it wouldn't adapt Ash, and instead chose to reward him with a Lycanium Z.
In Full Moon and Many Arms!, Nanu was shown there, paying respects to the Blinding Ane equally a function of the Manalo Festival.
